1. Who we are
Quant Terminal LLC is the data controller for personal data collected through this website in connection with The Blackstone Law Review Competition. Contact: [email protected].
2. What we collect, and why
- Interest list: your email address — used once, to notify you when registration opens.
- Registration: full name, email address, division, school or university, country, and (optionally) year of study — used to administer the Competition: issuing your Registration ID, verifying eligibility, communicating deadlines and results, and paying prizes.
- Submission: your paper PDF (and any replacement versions), linked to your Registration ID — used solely for anonymised judging and, for winning entries, publication with your consent.
- Late-entry fee (only if you submit late): payment is handled by an external payment provider; we never see or store card details — only confirmation that the fee was paid.
We collect nothing else. No analytics trackers, no advertising cookies, and no data is sold or shared with third parties for marketing.
3. Lawful basis
We process registration data because it is necessary to run the Competition you have entered (performance of a contract / legitimate interests), and we process the interest list on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
4. Children
- The minimum age to register is 13.
- Entrants under 18 must have parent or guardian consent, confirmed at registration.
- We never publish the name, school, or photograph of an entrant under 18 without explicit parent or guardian consent; results are otherwise published by Registration ID only.
5. Who sees your data
- Judges see only anonymised papers identified by Registration ID — never names, schools, or countries.
- Registration details are accessible only to the Competition organisers for administration.
6. International transfers
The Promoter is a United States company, so data submitted from outside the US (including the UK and EU) is transferred to and stored in the US. We apply appropriate safeguards consistent with UK and EU data-protection requirements, and we limit collection to the minimum needed to run the Competition.
7. Retention
Registration data and papers are retained for the duration of the 2026–27 cycle and deleted within 12 months of the results announcement, except for published winning papers and records we must keep for legal or tax reasons. Interest-list emails are deleted once registration closes.
8. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting [email protected] from your registered email address. If you delete your registration before the deadline, your entry is withdrawn from judging.
9. Security
Registration data and papers are stored on access-controlled infrastructure and are not shared beyond the purposes described above. Please keep your Registration ID private — it is required, together with your email address, to submit or replace your papers.
